First I LOVE our new location! Except it has been raining off and on since last weekend and  we have discovered the driveway is super muddy with two large bogged down puddles… and we drive a Sentra.

Today it has just been me, the booger faces, and Claire bear(the dog) First thing this morning Hubs walks in with a new vacuum. I guess it was to butter me up for the fishing trip he was about to ask to go on and him getting out of working today. He did. he, also,  caught a 2+ pound Bass what we ate for dinner!

After  I moped the red mud out of the kitchen floor, again, I was inspired  to go figure out how to fix the muddy driveway. As I stood there I realized I have one thing free, unwanted, and in abundance… pine straw! My idea is that the red clay will mix with the straw and eventually it will not be a low spot. If it ever dries out maybe it will become hard and packed down…we will see. So I set out to rake, transport, and fill at least one hole in the drive. I got half way done. Thanks to LOTS of  “help” from the munchkins. I also,  relized that the spot I want the garden will not work. it gets to shady in the evening. I’m going to have to watch though the next week and find the place(s) with the best sun, hopefully it will have great drainage too…

Lemon pepper fish, carrot sticks  & raw ranch, and green beans for dinner. Not to “raw”, but super healthy. Hear is the link to the raw ranch I use IT IS THE BOMB DIGIDY! Click Here  Mmmm. I plugged the recipe into Myfitnesspal.com  and it is about 138 cals for 2 tbs. Regular ranch is about 140 for the same amount but the raw is full of cold and flu fighting fresh garlic and just better!

On the 28th of December 2012 Our trailer was moved to its new home. We are leasing 4 acres of mostly wooded land from an older man the uses the hay-field next door for his cows, well he swears  there are cows over there we’ll see. We hope to talk the old guy into letting us buy the land, we’ll see what happens with that as well. The other side is an empty home (very new) that once was for sell, but a thief went in and striped all the wiring out.

It has all been a learning experience! From county regulations and inspections to how to connect the “poop” pipe to the septic tank. There is water available, but we are still waiting on the inspection to be completed to get the power turned on. Once power is turned on we can get the heat/AC system reconnected. Last, once the ground dries out we can get the porch in. So do you want to know the biggest lesson I’ve learned…. Don’t move during the middle of 2 holidays.

I can’t wait to get off my parents floor and back into my home. I can’t wait to map out my Garden and get it planted. I can’t wait to get the kennels (already there!) cleaned out and get our chickens. I can’t wait to get an edible flower/herb garden planted. I can’t wait to get my pomegranate tree. I can’t WAIT for 2013!

This will be our story.

Swiss chard: the leaf vegetable that keeps on giving! by Raymond Nones.

So I’m positive I have strep Again… but my resolution for the year is the eat and be more natural and raw so I’m not going to the Dr. for antibiotics.

My son did get them for his strep. I don’t think it is safe to experiment on him especially since he was spiking a 102.9 temp. I’m feeding him yogurt (because o my god if this kid got thrush at this point! 16 months) and he is getting honey cough elixir from little noses brand to sooth his throat. I’m still breastfeeding so I hope these antibiotics don’t do to much damage to his belly and gut flora I’m taking fenugreek again to bump up my supply so he can get more of my milk to help get his belly back in order.

I’m taking ibuprofen, because i’m in a lot of pain. Taking honey and I will be getting some  cider vinegar and lemons on my lunch hour.

I will let you guys know how this cough syrup does! I’m combining with gargling apple cider vinegar, and drinking lemon water and cider water through out the day. I have eaten 1/2 scrambled egg (with fenugreek fennel and olive oil), a banana, and a milk shake today….the diet is not working if I can’t chew RAW food! or maybe it is… I guess i just shouldn’t eat right?….Right!… ha ha fat girls got to eat!Grandma Barb’s Homemade Cough Syrup
